So you know what's weird, I was walking to the subway the other day after work and I saw a bird pause in front of a puddle of water for a couple of seconds and then hop over it. Didn't seem too weird at first, then I thought to myself, how did that bird know how to avoid the puddle? Then it hit me that birds might have some sense of reasoning right? If not it wouldn't have known to hop over the puddle, basically a sense of what is right and what is wrong. Regardless of experience, it deduced that it would get wet if it hopped into the puddle, meaning the existence of some form of IQ?

I realized the other day that our blog needed some inspiration, or at we least do. Something that came to mind while I was reading some articles on the internet.

The archetype of a hero based on mythology is one who is normally born of a royal or godly descent, most of the time half-blooded. The hero always starts off going through a normal life and when he/she has come of age, the hero will be struck by some mishap or adversity. The hero will then go on to rectify this misfortune. Most of the time the hero would go on a journey or path that will enlighten or strengthen them to help get them to the end. In the midst of their journey, they will fail their tasks and they will complete them after multiple tries. The life of the hero is tough, but when the hero emerges victorious, something greater than life is always gained. However, there's always something smaller that burns in the hero, granting the hero victory, every single time. Props to my world mythology class, haha.

When we think heroes, we think Greek myth, Norse and pop culture. Heroes like Perseus, Odin, Hercules, and an example from pop culture off the top of my head would be say, Neo from Matrix are all heroes we know about. However, they do not exist, hence the word myth and with that we know they do not particularly affect us in anyway, but I feel sometimes we miss the whole point of a hero.

Heroes do not exist in reality unless they're firemen, big political figures or part of the national security. Even then, they rarely get the recognition they deserve, sometimes for reasons I shall not mention. Let's leave that thought for a moment because I'm not talking about our typical hero. In general, a hero in reality is always someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty, whatever the duty is. The term hero is always put on a grander scale and no one ever claims it(it's also an overused pop culture reference). The hero is our common hero, our big strong perfect human being, but what we're forgetting sometimes is that real heroes do exist, they're all around us. They've been part of our lives for the better, sometimes making a big impact, sometimes only a fleeting moment and sometimes only within us, but nonetheless, heroes. They give us strength, hope, something to look forward to in life, someone to look up to, they help us remember who we are and what we fight for. You've met them, you've conversed with them, you know them and at times they may not be the greatest, but they've played a part in our lives and that means something because they've made our lives part of their journey. Regardless of who they are, you know their our heroes, but we never think of it that way.

Point is, we should try and keep track of who our heroes are and maybe, just maybe follow in their footsteps. I'm not asking you to go get knighted or to go worship your heroes, they're not idols, or to go express how you feel or to go do justice because this is not kick-ass. I'm just bringing up the fact that our glorification can sometimes be justified by the people around us and vice versa.

So, I say, let's at least recognize our heroes, strive for them and be heroes, in our own right. As Carl Jung puts it, the hero is an expression of our personal and collective unconscious.

One thing I know is, we've already had the pleasure of meeting and knowing one of our heroes, no?

Sudden burst of inspiration, or maybe I just want to cover the previous post, or perhaps I'm just bored.

Looks like everything's back to square one, we're currently in the same position as we were 2 years ago. Everybody's scattered again. Except now I can live with the fact that most of you (if not all) have experienced my home away from home. Had the time of my life bringing you guys around, I really mean that. I plan to strike the lottery in the next few months, just so that I can catch a plane to the US of A. So you guys can finally show me how much better it is than Australia. Since America "won" all the time according to Ben.

If all goes well, I'm graduating at the end of the year. I finally made my decision that I am going back straight after, to be a part of the local industry/paying off my student loans till I die. Scary thing, apart from King, who has been working, don't you all find that a little bit scary? 2 years from now we'll all be in the same boat. 2 years ago, we were freaking out about going to college/overseas and turning 20. Those pivotal, benchmarking moments of our lives have gone passed us in a flash. Speaking of pivotal moments, I left one out, it's the biggest one, I'd assume it goes without mentioning.

Ah, the road ahead.

What's next? I really don't know. I really forgot the main reason why I wrote this, it wasn't to inform you guys about anything but I just thought that this blog deserves a proper fucking post. Been a long time since it had one. Don't just let it die out like that, we might remember all the good times and the big events but this blog has recorded some of the smaller, yet priceless one's (and some fucking trippy ass shit that Shaun writes). Read it, if you don't believe me.

We decided to start the day with a lil shopping here and there...so we went on to shop along waikiki/kalakaua avenue... there were tons of shops and stuff ranging from the lows to the highs... after that we went for lunch at this place called Panya in the Ala Moana mall... then after lunch we continued shopping at ala moana till like late evening.. then decided to go cut hair but couldnt find 1 that was cheap .. haha.. so we left.. and headed to have dinner at this indian place for andrews bday dinner.. it was good.. haha.. then after we adjourned to this mochi/ice cream place called bubbies.. which was good too.. and then headed back to our place... our crib.. hahahah!!!!

I am really glad that we FINALLY managed to go to Club Med together before Ken goes back to the States. Anyway...

The 3 hour journey did not even feel like it was - gossiping, cam whoring (hence the beautiful pictures later on) made the journey there fun! We did sailing, volleyball, kayaking (raja kaya haha!), swam like dolphins, played archery like Legolas, ping pong like the olympics, trapezed like the circus and also did some tanning like Andrew.

There are too many pictures, so I chose the pretty and handsome ones. More pictures will be on facebook!

Yammy, I guess we've been through quite a lot together eh? Especially from secondary 3, 4 and 5 where scouts really kicked off, all the way to the time when you taught me how to smoke. YES MUM, IF YOU'RE READING THIS IT WAS KIN IAN!

We could be on either sides of the conversation. Sigh, i remember months before i left, it was always me and you, when others had classes.

Haha. I'll always remember the days where you tap me on my shoulder and bring me to one side during scouts. Which always scared the hell out of me, cuz 9/10 times, something's missing of RM400 magically disappeared from the troop accounts. Other then that, you were probably the most efficient and prolific out of all of us in the COH. You know that I'd always give you props for that.

One thing about you that I'll always remember, it isn't your face or anything else but the act of sending you home, especially when you fucking forced me to drive into that FUCKING junction which I will have to make that U-TURN OF DEATH. Especially when I drive the Carnival, which made it hell. Other then Andrew, you hold the record number of times that i sent home.

Oh and another thing you are the only fucking person who can score 82 for add math and 51 for mod maths. Fucking retard.

Fuckin' hell, you were always taller then me.

Anyway bro, sorry i couldn't be there to send you off to embark upon your most interesting/life changing stage in your life (fucking-finally, you slacker), I'm just glad that I was a part of almost everything before.

Hey guys, it's 4am here and for the past few hrs i've searched high and low for that missing folder of all Andrew's photos when he was here in Melbourne. Seems it was hiding in some random folder which I named wrongly.

Me and Andrew got drunk on night during clubbing and stole this from Swanston Street and brought it up my apartment. Haha.

We were having breakfast at this place.

Funny thing happened. This was one of his first nights and we saw this guy running away from the police. Then the milkman, delivering to the coffee place we were at, speared (like how i did you, king. but better) the motherfucker and caught him. Haha. We all clapped for him.

For a month, we shared a bed.

Andrew loved Jager Bombs, we walked all the way to Simon's hse in the blistering cold and spent $20 on Red Bull on the way back.

He takeid too when he was here. That was just, inevitable.

But at that time.. it was just temporary.

It's already four months. How time flies.

It aches, Andrew. It seems that it was just yesterday when Bryan and i were on the way to Crown Casino (where you won RM600, you lucky shite) when we got the call. It seemed like hours when I was crying while typing out what to say to you on the phone. It aches. It seemed like moments when we ALL were flying back to see you.

It fucking aches.

We miss you, buddy. Look down on us, we just want to see you smile once again.

As promised, this will be the second post for week 2 of our random scenarios of life. I would like to reiterate again please whoever who reads this post or posts alike, do try to answer them. In the end, its only for fun.

Scenario :
You've come to a point in life, whereby your personal goal/dream/aspiration have either come and gone or you're about to achieve it. One fine day, chance or your years of hard work calls upon you, your time has come and your dream/personal goal has arrived. You're ecstatic, you know this is the opportunity you've been waiting for and you've lived by this ever since you knew that this is what you really want. You are to go abroad, somewhere better, way better. However, you realize things aren't too good at home, your family isn't doing too good integration wise, the people around you need you and you know for a fact that all of this will be a burden (this in general). You have this chance of taking life by the horns and overcoming your life long goal, you'll be at the top of the world. Take this chance, be happy or bare a weight however you would think of it and be happy. What would you do? Oh, this opportunity would be a 1 shot thing, or something you will never be able to do again. More so a goal of yours than a dream.

Note: Apply this scenario to yourself making this dream your dream, this goal your goal whatever it may be. Remember this is something you've been wanting to do, for shit knows how long. Oh... and no "it depends, depends" all... its a yes or no.. oh yeah do explain too... elaborate whatever.

P.S. Try to be honest, there's no right or wrong.. seriously. Life is subjective, we can all be only as good as we want to be.

Hi all, first things first, I'd like to say that our blog has to be updated.. frequently. So, we have, devised a plan, somewhat, to keep this blog active. Hopefully this pulls through. From this week onwards, I, or whoever who wants to, will be posting up random realistic scenarios of life that will ultimately end with a mind boggling question, weekly if possible. Feel free to answer them as you see fit and as to how you would really react in real life.

Scenario :
You have a best friend, close, very very close... like.. well you get the point. Lets forget about that friend for awhile. So, its your 3rd annual anniversary day and you decide to take your partner out for dinner and whatever event you might have planned for that day. However, your partner tells you that he/she cannot make it, due to some emergency. Disappointed but being the understanding lover that you are, you decide to not push it and call your best friend out, but to no avail. The next day, your best friend calls you out to go yum cha, so you go yum cha. He/She says he needs to stop by Lotus for awhile cause Lotus is the best. Anyway, he/she gets out and asks you to wait for awhile, you start getting restless and start fidgeting around in his/her car(in the event that he/she picked you up). So you play around whatever, then...... you glanced past the back seat for awhile.... at the corner of your eye... you see some...lingerie/boxers underneath the drivers seat. Surprised, you think to yourself.. mahem got chick/hunk whatever never tell me.. okay.. so you get up to get a closer look.. and then you kinda recognize the underwear. Oh.. so.. yeahh thats my girl/boy friends underwear. You put 2 and 2 together, you know for a fact that something happened the night before and you confront your best... friend. He confesses that he slept with your partner. What would you do? Would it be easier for you to forgive your best friend .. or your girl friend?

*note: assuming that this best friend is the same best friend throughout the story.
*P.S. - I do not mean to offend anyone with this, solely for entertainment purposes.

Anyway here's the pictures of the 2nd and the last day of the camping trip. To me it was more of a chill period then the night before, no fire contests, no tent pitching. just some swimming and some slow cooking.

Hey there muhfuckers. Here's the long long awaited camping post. It's nice to see something new huh? Instead of Chris's fucking political post. Which was great at first, then it started to get annoying. Like Chris himself!

Only kidding.

Recently all of us (one's back home) were still in my house, planning what to do during the weekend. It was a Thursday night. Initial plan was to go fishing however that went to the shit cuz we couldnt find a boat.

Then suddenly,
"Let's go camping!" said Kin Ian.

Less then 24 hours later, we already got our van and we were already well on our way.

Road trip!

Fire "competition". Wasn't spose to be one until King insisted.

Hi my fellow Rvn’s . How are you ppl holding up? I hope everyone’s doing fine. As for me, these past 2 weeks or so has been pretty hectic as I am busy preparing for my finals . However, the main reason of my post today is to voice my anger and frustration at the current crisis our beloved country is facing.

Recently, our Gov raised the petrol prices from RM1.92/litre to RM2.70, an increase of 80 cents. Their reason for this? The gov wouldn’t be able to subsidize oil anymore due to the high oil prices globally. Then, thinking we are stupid... they compare us with neighboring countries like Singapore and Thailand and say that we are still paying at a discount. Well first of all, countries like Sg and Thai are not oil producing countries whereas our country is a producer of oil. But if we were to compare with other oil producing countries:-

Brunei: Rm1.19/liltre

S.Arabia: RM0.38/litre

Iran: RM0.35/litre

Kuwait: RM0.67/litre

Qatar: RM0.68/litre

Bahrain: RM0.87/litre

Malaysia is paying so much more!

Personally, I think the increase in oil price is really a bad political move by BN considering the political chaos they are currently in now. I think all this boils down to poor management. Before this, the gov promised the nation that there will be no increase in prices of oil at least until August. Then, they imposed a ban for foreign cars to pump petrol at our gas stations claiming they are enjoying our subsidy. However, after a few days of imposing the ban.. the gov decide to cancel this ban and saying that the increase in price to RM2.70 is almost equivalent to the market rate. Poor management. Apart from that our gov has also wasted billions of the taxpayers’ money by investing in the wrong projects. The controversial National Service where hundreds of millions are pumped in every year to run it.. going to space.. another few hundred million there..the PSC -Naval Dockyard patrol boats project ... and compensating the contractor who were supposed to build the new bridge from johor to Singapore.. Who’s money that’s wasted? Ours, the taxpayers’…our hard earned money flushed down just like that… Apart from that, there’s a 300% tax on imported cars! Other countries who’s oil prices are high don’t have such taxes!.. The last hike of 30 cents was supposed to save RM 14 billion, to be used to improve our transportation problems/systems...its really bullshit I tell you...And also our income per capita and purchasing power are so low.. everything else is increasing except for our income. Unlike us, Singapore's income per capita is increasing yearly... we are lagged behind..A fresh grad now can hardly survive out there.

Furthermore, what about Petronas? The pride of our country.. Possibly the richest company in South-East Asia..earning billions a year.. Where has all the profit gone to? Can Malaysia really achieve its aim of being a developed country by 2020? Or would we be like other third-world countries by then? More and more people are leaving the country… Malaysia is suffering from the brain-drain disease … A lot of foreign graduates don’t wanna come back home… There’s so much potential and talent out there but what’s the point if they don’t come back?? A lot of Malaysian people I meet in Melbourne are planning to work in Australia for a few years before deciding to come back .. Looking at the current situation now.. not many would wanna come back… The question now is how to save our country? The recent elections already showed that many people want change. 5 of the most advanced states have been lost to the opposition. The rakyat has spoken, the results speak for itself. Let’s all just pray that our country will improve and somehow get itself out of the mess it’s currently in.

2 days.
2 days ago was already a month since Andrew left.
I promised you, drew.. That there will be no more tributes. This isn't.
This is just a mini documentation on the other events that happen around a month ago. Besides you're passing.

A lot of questions were asked about this photo when it came out in
the Melbourne video. This one is in color. This was the first picture i took
after Chris, Tan and I touched down from Melbourne.

See, we weren't down ALL the time. You know us, we always
manage to scrape the fun out of ANY situation.
And you know no one else is better at it then Ben.

Yes we had our breaks. Lunch breaks, dinner breaks, ciggie breaks.

My brother, who I've not seen for almost one and a half years came back too.

Besides the obvious, there was another tragedy during your funeral, drew.
I was pulling out my camera from my bag and my lens cap dropped into the fucking
drain in front of your house. And that plastic bag that Henry gave me, had a FUCKING
hole in it.

Oh and again, the one thing I MUST thank you for is reuniting the F siblings
after so damn long from being apart.

Oh and we all shaved our heads for you. To imitate your new funky
hairdo. I mean it's not that you had a choice. Having a piece of your skull
taken out does require for you to loose some hair.
I kept some tho, cuz I was smart/wanted
to look more like you.
Damn, even the vainest mother fucker on earth (shin loong) shaved.
And Shaun now looks like his dad.

Now I shall repeat my statement that we did not put up that "oh im so sad/cool and this picture is gonna look so gangsta" face ALL the time. We did smile., to a certain degree.
